Hamilton County Schools Closed Friday; W Road, Roberts Mill Road Back Open; Erlanger Has 55 Weather-Related Visits

Hamilton County Schools will be closed Friday "due to icy roads and parking lot conditions, and safety concerns for our parents, students, and employees."

School aged child care will be closed and all extracurricular activities are cancelled. 

Central Office will report by 10 a.m. and maintenance will report at regular time. 

The 12th Annual Student Speak of the county schools has been cancelled for Friday and has been rescheduled for Friday, Feb. 7.  

The Hamilton County Highway Department said Thursday morning that the W Road is now open. Roberts Mill Road opened Thursday afternoon.

Here is a rundown of what Erlanger's five emergency rooms have seen since daybreak Tuesday.

Most of the injuries reported were related to slips, falls, sledding, and motor vehicle accidents.

Chattanooga Girls Leadership Academy closed Friday

Due to icy patches in the school parking lot, Chattanooga Christian School will be on a one-hour delay Friday. Teachers should report at regular time.  The one-hour delay is intended to help spread out traffic in the morning at the school.  If you do not have an issue getting to school, please plan to arrive nearer to the regular time.  Some of the icy areas on the campus parking lot are in the carpool drop-off areas.  There may be some traffic re-routing in the morning due to those icy patches.  The afternoon pick-up should not be an issue as the forecast is calling for warmer temperatures tomorrow afternoon.

St. Jude School - i-hour delay

St. Peter's Episcopal open at 9 a.m.

Walker County Schools closed Friday

Whitfield County Schools will be closed for students and staff on Friday. County officials report some secondary roads are still unsafe for travel.
