CSCC’s Mundava Selected For ARL Leadership Fellows Program

Friday, January 12, 2018

Cleveland State Librarian Maud Mundava has been selected for the 2018–2019 Association of Research Libraries Leadership Fellows program, a cohort of 30 senior-level librarians from around the country who will participate in a year-long deep study within the profession.

The ARL Leadership Fellows program facilitates the development of future senior-level leaders in large research libraries and archives. In response to a continued need to develop future leaders of ARL member institutions, the ARL Leadership Fellows program is designed to build on self-assessment and reflection and to explore a personal/professional area of interest in the context of a group setting. During the course of the program, each fellow will construct a learning plan; engage in a customized, immersive experience to shadow a library director; participate in three week-long institutes hosted by sponsoring ARL institutions; participate in online synchronous sessions; and attend semiannual Association Meetings.

"I am very excited, humbled and honored to be selected into such a highly competitive program,” stated Ms. Mundava. “This is a great opportunity to attend a series of leadership institutes at sponsoring research libraries, meet and network with other fellows with diverse working library experiences in higher education.”

“I am delighted to see that others recognize the leadership skills that Maud posseses and want to challenge her in continued professional growth,” stated Dr. Denise King, vice president for Academic Affairs. “The work she and her team have done to enrich student engagement and literacy has been terrific; we can't wait to see what comes out of this well-deserved experience."
